hold a workshop on writing and
poetry and read from her works
today at the University and at
LCC.
McPherson, former poetry
editor of the literary magazine
"Antioch Review,” will give a
reading at noon in the LCC
Board Room. She will talk about
writing and developing poetry
on campus during a 2:30 p.m.
workshop in Room 142 Straub
Hall. A second reading will be
held at 8 p.m. in the EMU Forum.
McPherson’s poetry has app
eared in several magazines in
cluding "The New Yorker,"
"Harper's" and "Poetry
Northwest.” Her first book of

University of Haifa and a visiting professor at
Harvard University, will speak on "Sex
Equity and Sex Roles in Israeli Society and

Writing Program is sponsoring
McPherson’s visit in coopera
tion with the LCC language arts
department. The program’s lec
ture series is supported through
matching gifts from the Time
Life Foundation and University
alumnus Kenny Moore.
A marathon competitior in the
1968 and 1972 Olympics, Moore
received a master of fine arts
degree in creative writing in
1972. He is now a senior writer
for Sports Illustrated magazine.
