Attend classes
500 parents expected
for annual campus visit
The University’s annual Parent's Weekend
scheduled for May 15-17 is expected to draw
more than 500 parents from all over the United
States, says Mark Bocchi, secretary treasurer of
the Student University Relations Council, the
organization sponsoring the weekend
Parents of University students are invited to
visit campus and participate in activities
scheduled for the weekend. These activities
include parents attending classes with students
on Friday morning, going to the Beer Garden
Friday afternoon, watching the canoe fete on the
Millrace Saturday, and attending several concerts
and lectures on Sunday.
“The Parents' Weekend provides an oppor
tunity for parents to become better aquainted with
the total learning experience of the University,’’
Bocchi says.
Most parents who attend are from within the
state, but the weekend does attract parents from
other states and countries.
Parents who travel the longest distance to
attend the weekend are awarded a prize, Bocchi
said. Last year parents from Boston won the
award.
Parents are urged to register early using the
materials sent out by the community services
office to all parents of University students. Pa
rents also may register late, from 8 a,m, until
noon, in the EMU.

vices director Mary Hudzikiewicz at 686-5555.
