Nile delta area explored in lecture
Archaeological exploration in
the western Nile delta will be
featured in a slide show pre
sentation tonight at 8 p.m. in
Room 107 Lawrence Hall.
Albert Leonard Jr., art history
and archaeology professor at
the University of Missouri at
Columbia, will speak on his ex
cavation experiences in Egypt,
Sicily, Israel and Crete.
"By covering both surface
exploration and actual excava
tion, my lecture will answer such
questions as ‘How do ar
chaeologists know where to
dig?' ‘What do they find?’ 'What
happens to the objects after
they are taken from the
ground?' and ‘How are they
related to history?’,” Leonard
says.

ent Chicago attorney and bu
sinessman, will speak on the
current state of the American
economy today at 3:30 p.m in
the Gerlinger Alumni Lounge.
He also will speak on prob
lems and prospects in interna
tional trade Wednesday at 3:30
p.m. in the EMU Dad’s Room.
A reception in Collier House
will follow each talk.
Klutznick is on campus for
two weeks as recepient of the
Wayne Morse Chair of Law and
Politics. He will speak to law,
economics, political science,
and business classes and meet
faculty and students.
Besides being commerce
secretary in the last year of the
Carter administration, Klutznick
was a member of several
delegations to the United
Nations. He founded and head
ed the Urban Investment and
Development Co. in Chicago.

An Information meeting on the Oregon
State System of Higher Education two-term
forlegn study program In Mexico will be held
tonight at 7 p m in Room 232 Gilbert Hall
The meeting will be hosted by Romance
Languages Prof Robert Jackson who was
resident director of the program last year
Past participants will show slides and
answer questions about their experiences at
the program site, Guadalajara
The program is designed for students who
will have studied at least two years of
college-level Spanish, or the equivalent, and
have sophomore standing by the beginning
of January.
Students receive University credit, usually
30 hours, and may apply for financial aid.
Applications may be picked up at the meet
ing or at the International Services office,
