Job visitation program continues
Six firms in the Eugene area again will offer
"Afternoon on the Job" experiences for Univer
sity students during spring term.
Groups of 15 students will have a chance to
see business in action at firms involved in public
utilities, civil service, broadcasting, sales, com
munications and stocks and bonds. The sessions
run from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.
"The visitations will include presentations on
the firm’s organization, on the scope of the
business and opportunity for entry-level jobs, and
on the qualifications the firm looks for in entry
level employees,” says Debbie Chereck, career
development specialist with the Career Planning
and Placement Service.
Students sign up at the Career Planning and
Placement office, Room 246 Susan Campbell
Hall, on Monday before the particular visit. Par
ticipating firms include Eugene Water and Elec
tric Board, April 9; Peace Corps, April 16, KVAL
TV, April 23; Xerox Corp., April 30; Pacific North
west Bell, May 7; and Foster and Marshall, Inc.,
May 14.
