Kegler breaks record
in victory over Linfield
Oregon pitcher Dean Kegler
set a school record for career
wins as the Ducks defeated
Linfield 5-0 Monday on the
loser’s diamond.
Kegler recorded his 19th win
to erase the mark of 18 set by
Walt Stone from 1962-64.
Oregon sophomore Steve
Crum continued to wield a
heavy bat as he slugged his
sixth home run of the season in
the sixth inning. Randy Porter
and Russ Hodges were two for
four at the plate; Hodges had
one RBI.
The Ducks return home to
Howe Field for the first time in a
month today to face Willamette
University at 3 p.m.
Golfers third m tourney
Oregon’s women’s golf team
is in third place after one day of
competition at the Portland In
vitational tournament.
University of Washington
leads the two-day competition
with 336 strokes, followed by
Oregon State (365) and Oregon
(377).
Sue Schoedal leads the
Ducks with an opening-round
92. Washington’s Sue Swander
scored an 80 to lead the in
dividual competition.
