D. Leviatan, professor of Mathematics and
Dean of Natural Sciences at Tel Aviv
University and a leading resercher in the
field of approximation theory, will lecture on
Approximation by Polynomials with Res
tricted Coefficients" today at 4:30 p m. in

Lots Baker, a Portland-based poet and
fiction writer, will read from her work tonight
at 8 p.m. in the Fine Arts Gallery, Room 141
Lawrence Hall. She also will give a talk on
her work as a writer and teacher today at

Michael Sprlnker, a English teacher at
OSU, will be addressing the Comparative
Literature Colloquim on the recent work of
Paul de Man today at 3 p.m. in Room 301

Claes Andersson, a Finnish-Swedish
author of novels, plays and numerous poetry
collections, will read today at 3 p m in the
Gerlinger Alumni Lounge. He will read his
own poetry in English and the Swedish
language literature of Finland and as well as
his own situation as a writer using a minority
language
Ken Bleile, a graduate student in Speech
Pathology, will speak on “Fronting in Down's
Syndrome Phonology” today at 3:30 p.m. in
