Invention study planned
The University’s Innovation Center has been chosen to
analyze the commercial feasibility of energy-related inventions that
are submitted to the federal government.
The inventions to be studied for marketability will be provided
by the National Bureau of Standards, the federal body that
approves or disapproves inventions for governmental funding

CONTINGENCY PLANS FOR MEN’S IM SOFTBALL
This spring we are experiencing exceptionally heavy and persistent
rainfall which forces us to make some changes in the men's softball
program. We will not be able to complete the softball plan that was
programmed at the beginning of the term, viz., that each team was to
play a round robin followed by a single elimination play-off tour
nament with two teams in each league in the contest.
The number of days remaining for play will not allow us to complete the
above plan. Therefore, the two top teams in each league will not play
in the elimination tournament and only the winning team in each
league will be scheduled for the elimination contest.
If further delays occur because of postponed games due to rain or poor
field conditions, the single elimination tournament will not be held at
all and all points (all year point system) will be awarded on a league
play basis. The wiiner of each league will be declared the champion.

Holocaust lectures set
Elte Wiesel, noted theologian, novelist and playwright, will
give two lectures Tuesday and Wednesday nights at 8 p m In the
South Eugene High School auditorium.
Wiesei. a survivor of the Nazi extermination camps Auschwitz
and Buchenwald. is the Andrew Mellon Professor of the Humani
ties at Boston University
* Jeremiah: The Witness of Modern Times" will be the subject
of Wiesel's Tuesday lecture On Wednesday, he will speak on
Brurya: A Woman's Tragedy."
Tickets for the lectures are $5 for the series (two lectures), and
$3 for each individual night. Low-income tickets also are available
