The White Bird Clients Advocacy and Advisory Council is
sponsoring a community legal education series The six classes
will be held on Thursdays from 7-9 p.m at the Central Presbyterian
Church, 15th Avenue and Ferry Street All classes are free and
open to the public. Child care will be provided free of charge
Beginning Thursday, the sessions are: "Small Claims Court;"
May 10. "Landlord/Tenant Law;" May 17. "Discrimination;" May
24, "Workers' Compensation;" May 31, "Personal Advocacy” and
June 7, "Self-help Divorce."

for observing Law Day on
Tuesday The theme this year is
"Our Changing Rights." Law
Day U S A is set aside on May 1
of each year by joint resolution
of Congress and Presidential
proclamation
Lane County attorneys will
conduct mock trials and speak
to schools and interested com
munity groups during Law Day
week The mock trial concerns
free speech issues, and
provides an opportunity to learn
the mechanics of a trial. A film.
“In Search of Justice" is also
scheduled for showing in
schools and other locations in
Lane County The film records a
day in the life of the judicial
system
