Assembly set
to consider
single motion
A single motion is up for
University Assembly action when
it meets today at 3:30 p.m. in 150
Geology.
English Prof. Derry Malsch's
motion asks that Linguistics 151
be included among courses
which fulfill Arts and Letters
group requirements.
Also, the motion asks that Lin
guistics 311 now meet Social
Science group requirements.
Malsch's motion was approved
last week by the University Senate
with 28 members voting in favor
of the motion, none opposed and
four abstentions.
Other matters to be reviewed
by the Assembly include a list of
winter term graduates and the
results of a special election held
to fill a vacancy on the graduate
council.
English Prof Clarence
Thurber's motion concerning a
proposed international studies
program has been removed from
the agenda at his request. It has
not yet been rescheduled

GTF fellowships offered
A pair of $500 graduate teaching fellowship awards have been
established by Mortarboard, a University honor society, and the
University Graduate School.
The awards will be given to the two GTFs judged to have made the
greatest contribution to the educational process through teaching.
University faculty, graduate and undergraduate students may
nominate one or more candidates for the award. Nominations should
be placed in the Graduate School on or before April 16.
Awards winners will be officially recognized at the University's
June commencement.
Time schedules available
Copies of the spring term Time Schedule of Classes are now
available from the Office of the Registrar, 220 Oregon Hall Supply is
limited to one per person. The Office of the Registrar will mail time
schedules if requests Include $1.20 for postage and a 9 x 12 return
envelope.
