Hospital offers
relaxation help
Learning to relax is the goal of
classes offered at McKenzie
Willamette Hospital. Classes are
designed to teach ways that peo
ple can learn to relax in stressful
situations.
Instructors for the two series of
four classes are Anthony Biglan
and David Campbell. Both are
licensed psychologists.
The Monday afternoon series
will be conducted by Campbell
from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. beginning
Jan. 15.
A Wednesday evening series
from 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. will be led
by Biglan. It begins on Jan. 17,
with subsequent classes on Jan.
24, Feb. 7 and Feb. 28.
The fee for either series of dess
es is $35. Interested persons
may get more information by call
ing the Behavior Change Center

Iranians plan march
The Iranian Moslem Student Association is staging a mock funeral
march beginning at 11 a.m. today at the Wesley Center, 1236 Kincaid
St.
Marchers will cany a casket to symbolize the deaths of Iranians
who have been killed recently during anti-shah demonstrations in Iran.
Protests have resulted in a major decrease in Iranian oil exports,
and Shah Mohammed Rezi Pahlavi’s reign is in jeopardy according to
the student group.
Iranian students insist that Americans are “bound up in this revolu
tion" because of U.S. support of the shah. “Americans must come to
realize that their government has participated for years in actively
supporting the corrupt regime of the shah,” says an assoication
spokesperson.
Members of the organization cite the shah’s failures as turning the
country into a food importing nation, and not using oil revenues for the
public benefit.
County seeks planners
Lane County Commissioners are seeking applicants for the Lane
County and West County Planning Commissions
Four members are completing terms on the two bodies.
- The commission recommends adoption of sub-area plans to the
board, makes recommendations on ordinances which implement the
plans and acts on certain applications and requests dealing with land
use Members of both commissions are selected for three year terms
and are eligible to serve two consecutive full terms.
The Lane County Planning Commission meets in Eugene on the
second and fourth Tuesdays of each month during the late afternoon
and evening. The West Lane group meets on the second Wednesday of
each month in the evening.
The West Lane body is selected from Lane County residents of the
coastal area including the Mapleton, Siuslaw, Ten Mile Creek, and
Ryan school districts, while the Lane County body is composed of
residents of the remainder of the county.
Interested persons should submit applications no later than Jan.

enue, Eugene, or at the Courthouse Annex in Florence.

versity Counseling Center is offer
ing a “group experience" for mar
ried students who are experienc
ing a new role as a “step-parent."
The group is open to students
who are step-parents and to stu
dents whose spouses are step
parents. Toobert encourages both
partners to attend the sessions.
Interested persons may contact
the Counseling Center, located in
150 Susan Campbell Hall, at
686-3227. Meeting times for the
class will be determined by the
group.
