perhaps gay issues would fade
out of the limelight, but “we gay
people are not going to go back
and curl up in our closets where
it’s warm and quiet," she says.
"We've come too far for that.”
She notes that proponents of
gay rights are still active, even in
places such as Miami, Fla. The
murder this week of San Fran
cisco mayor George Moscone
and Supervisor Harvey Milk in
volves the pro-gay rights stance of
Moscone and the homosexuality
of Milk, keeping gay issues very
much in the news, she says.

Tobacco pipes ‘alight’
Students wiH have a chance to show off their pipe-smoking talents
and win some prizes in the process today at the EMU.
A pipe-smoking contest open to anyone over 18 years of age, will
be held at noon in Room 205, and will be sponsored by the Sir Walter
Raleigh Tobacco Co. Contestants will be required to smoke a specified
amount of tobacco, while those whose light lasts the longest will receive
one of three prizes.
First prize consists of five carved Sir Walter Raleigh tobacco pipes
and a can of pipe tobacco, while second and third prizes are three cans
and one can, respectively.
Free refreshments will be provided for all contestants.
Christmas faire features crafts
The University Westmoreland
Family Housing will hold a Christ
mas Craft Faire Saturday from 8
