The various 1978 campaigns have
reached a rather feverish pitch in the
final days before voters travel to the
polls. Some issues and races have at
tracted a lot of attention this year - such
as the death penalty, the Lausmann!
Weaver race for 4th District Congress
man, and, of course, the two property tax
relief measures.
But often the issues that receive little
attention can affect Oregonians as much
as the ones that have hogged the atten
tion. This year, as during every’ election,
the Emerald staff has put together a sup
plement — which provides information
on small and large issues and races.
In addition the Emerald conducted
a poll to calculate how University stu
dents stand on various issues. The poll
results are on page 16B.
The election supplement is designed
to assist voters in knowing and under
standing the wide-reaching range of is
sues and candidates.
Polls will be open 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
