University target
for sex survey
University students apparently
have become targets in a phony
telephone survey being con
ducted in the Eugene-Springfield
area.
The University Department of
Psychology has received com
plaints over the past few months
from citizens contacted by a per
son who claims to be conducting a
sex-related telephone survey
through the department. How
ever, the psychology department
is conducting no such survey, ac
cording to Robert Fagot, depart
ment head.
Fagot said since fall term began
several complaints have been re
gistered by students, and he
speculated that the person mak
ing the telephone calls may be
using a University student direc
tory, “concentrating on the stu
dent population.”
