The University has about 15
openings for an Oct. 20-23 tour to
Seattle that will include a special
guided tour of the King Tutank
hamen exhibit, University Alumni
Relations Director Lois McCarty
says.
McCarty said about 285 per
sons have signed for the trip which
is open to the public and or
ganized especially for University
alumni and friends of the Museum
of Art.
Included in the Friday through
Monday trip will be transportation
to and from Seattle on Amtrack,
accommodations for three nights
at a downtown Seattle hotel, art
tours of the city, dinner and a lec
ture on “The Treasures of Tutan
khamen’’ and a reception and
guided tour of the King Tutank
hamen exhibit. Cost is $150.
In addition, tour participants will
have the option of attending the
Ducks football game with the Uni
versity of Washington Oct. 21.
Reserved seat tickets for the
game are $9 per person.
Tour reservations can be made
by sending a $25 deposit to the
Alumni Relations Office, 217

Norseman probes power
Paul Thyness, world president of the Norseman s Federation and a
member of Norway’s Parliament, will speak at the University Monday at
3 p.m. in the Gerlinger Hall Alumni Lounge.
The title of his talk will be “Norway between the Super Powers."
Thyness, 48, is a member of that country's Foreign Relations
Committee.
The talk is being sponsored by the University Department of Ger
man and Russian, It will be open to the public.
