Co-ed growth group to meet
A new personal growth group for women and men will begin Tues
day from 7 to 9 p.m and will be led by Carol Green, local feminist
therapist She will provide information and location of the sessions by
calling 344-4455. Advanced registration is required
The weekly counseling group is designed for expressing feelings,
resolving conflicts, expenencing individual growth and developing
communication skills. There will be opportunity for both individual work
and group interaction.
She says. “In many instances both women and men have felt safer
and desired being in either an all women's or men s group, ft is important
that women and men begin to deal with the feelings and attitudes that
come up when they are around each other in a safe and supportive
environment.”
Fees are based on a sliding scale.
More host homes needed
More families are needed to host Mexican students for seven
weeks this summer as part of ‘‘Intercambio. an international student
exchange program.
Exchange students, ages 11 to 16 years, live with families on the
West Coast and practice English, learning Amencan way of life and
culture. Requirements for host families include having a child approxi
mately the same age as the exchange student.
The program was founded in Mexico in 1959 by the Rev Placid
Reitmeier. an American priest. Central office personnel in Mexico City
are assisted by volunteer couples in Central Amenca Mexico. Canada
and the United States, who coordinate the wortc locally, interview
families and select students

LARC hike-bike planned
The Lane Association for Retarded Citizens (LARC) wiH sponsor a
hike-bike Saturday, June 3. at the Autzen Stadium.
The event is open to handicapped and non-handicapped commun
ity members of all ages, and participants may choose to hike bike, jog
or wheelchair.
Interested persons should register and collect pledges now for the
10-mile route
Prizes will be given to persons who collect the most money for
LARC and each person who turns in at least S50 w>H receive a free
hike-bike knapsack.

Air Force school open
College seniors or graduates may now apply for an Air Force
commission through Officer Training School (OTS)
Selected applicants who successfully complete the three-month
OTS course will be commissioned as second lieutenants in the Air
Force.
More than 1.080 people with mathematical, engmeenng physics,
meteorology and computer science baccalaureate degrees will be
needed for entry into OTS this year, officials say
Applications should be submitted early in order to be considered for
