Professors, GTFs and other
University course instructors are
receiving information forms this
week for the fall term ASUO
course guide.
“Not only am I asking for infor
mation on courses in general, but
with a new philosophy for The
Guide, I would like to include any
additional offerings, such as
mini-classes, colloquiums,
graduate and undergraduate
seminars...," says Rich Riegel,
editor of The Guide.
The deadline for receiving the
forms is June 2.

The IFC has appropriated $500
to help with court costs.
The OIC is expected to discuss
the issue at its June meeting.
The council is composed of
State Treasurer Clay Myers and
four other persons, me council
hires, fires and advises its invest
ment managers, but does not di
rect its managers to invest or not
to invest in any particular com
panies, according to Lyndon Wil
son, deputy state treasurer.
Redden said political factors
could be only considered in buy
ing and selling state stock if it af
fected the return on those invest
ments.
Otherwise Redden said only
two principles — the safety of in
vestments and the probable rate
of return could influence the in
vestment managers to sell stock.
The attorney general’s opinion
is legally binding unless it is over
ruled in court.
Walt Sheasby, spokesperson
for People for South African Free
dom (PSAF), says his group is
looking for students who have
state endowment scholarships
and professor’s with endowment
chairs to testify.
A demonstration at the capitol
building in Salem is also planned
for May 19.
