The University’s orientation office wants more than 100 under
graduates to volunteer as hosts for incoming freshmen next fall.
The "New Student Host Program" is designed to familiarize new

community and surrounding area.
Don McCarty, University orientation director, says his office is
seeking volunteers with "enthusiasm, a willingness to learn and to
share information about the University and an interest in helping a
freshman gain a comfortable and effective start in the University.”
Each student host will probably assist about 10 to 15 new students
beginning Sept. 18.
Deadline for receiving names for the program is Monday, May 1.
Students interested may call the orientation office, 686-3218.
