ig publications get big attention. But
small publications get attention, too — perhaps by
not as many people, but certainly with more
intensity.
Such small periodicals serve many of
Eugene’s needs. There are, for example, some 15
neighborhood newspapers, a magazine for
worker-controlled businesses, a women’s journal,
and a publication for people active in holistic
health. They’re simple, and not very visible, but
vital.
