    All my children
A friend of mine tells me that
February is the month most
people watch daytime television.
Given this, soap operas schedule
a lot of action for the viewers.
Maybe that accounts for the
speed of things in Pine Valley.
It’s getting boring as hell, but the
Donna-Chuck crisis is ap
proaching a point of change.
Donna had her usual answer for
hassles — she split.
This time, Donna made it to
Center City and Estelle’s. Then,
suicide entered the picture (it
seems like a lot of Pine Vallians
respond to pressure by trying to
turn out their own lights) and
Donna looks like she may soon be
leaving it. While waiting for
Estelle, Donna saw Billy Clyde
and traded him a diamond
necklace (I bet it was a South
African diamond) for a bottle of
U granted $
to study Hood
The Oregon Department of
Geology and Mineral Industries
has made a second $10,000 grant
to extend a University study of Mt.
Hood as a potential source of
geothermal energy.
University geology professor
Alexander McBirney said that the
first phase of the study. begun last
fall, proved promising enough for
the state to fund additional
research.
The project has two goals,
according to researcher Craig
White. One is to assess whether
Timberline Lodge might be heated
geothermally and the second is to
find a high temperature heat
source.

reds. She told Billy Clyde that she
needs ’em to sleep, but she's
really planning to go out asleep.
While Donna’s been looking for
a place to end it, Chuck and Line
have been speeding to Center
City. Estelle doesn’t know where
Donna is (she never made over to
Estelle’s friend’s) and Chuck’s at a
loss. But that’s the ending. “How
did it all start?” you ask. Actually, I
bet you don’t really care, but,
because I’m easy to intimidate, I’ll
tell you anyway.
After Estelle’s visit, Donna
decided to please Chuck and go
back to the shrink (Dr. Polk). Once
there, Donna demonstrated great
power of memory. From just a
kernel of info, Donna remembered
the entire operation. The scene so
freaked her out that she headed
out of the office and didn’t stop 'till
she got to Center City. She could
be on her way out, the victim of a
need to spice up the script.
Over at The Cheateau, Nick’s
already feeling the yoke of
marriage and he hasn’t even seen
the preacher yet. Nick’s back to
work and everything is in sorry
shape after his stay in New York.
Trying to get it all back in shape,
Nick was hampered by a call from
his fiance begging to see him.
He's not too happy about the
prospect of getting hitched to
Erica and the subject doesn’t
bring a smile to his face.
Of course, Erica, having gotten
what she was after, can talk of little
else. While she's still in the
hospital, her bout with pneumonia
is almost over, she having
knocked it down for the count.
She’s ready to start planning her
wedding and pressured Nick to
set a date. Better watch it Erica,
you don’t have him netted yet.
While Erica’s still in the hospital,
Phoebe went home. Since her
source at the hospital dried up
(Benny was smuggling her vodka)
she opted for the home where she
can get all the spirits she wants.
But Ray Gardner’s still on the
loose (Ruth hasn’t regained
consciousness yet) and Phoebe is
spooked. Last night, she was
drinking with Benny, when the
door flew open, causing her to
retire to the back, quickly.
It turned out to be only the wind,
but Phoebe had given her secret
away to Benny. Benny wasn’t
planning on turning her in but now
he has control over her again.
Don't know how he’ll use it, but he
put it away for safe keeping.
And, something’s hatching at
the Thortons’. I don’t think I’d call it
love, more like mutual use.
Wednesday, David and Edna
finally looked like they were going
to sack out together. Kris sent
David’s engagement ring back to
him and Edna’s always willing for
some action between the sheets
Looks like Edna’s finally hooked
David and it wouldn’t be surprising
if Jeff and Kris started seeing a lot
more of each other.
