Fiji’s rechartering slated
It will be an eventful weekend for the Fiji’s, thanks to their recent
recognition by the international chapter of Phi Gamma Delta.
The rechartering of the Epsilon Omicron chapter of Phi Gamma
Delta will occur at ceremonies beginning Friday at the Valley River Inn.
An “aH campus lunch” will be held Saturday at 12:15 p.m. in the
McKenzie Room, Valley River Inn. The public is invited.
Delta colony of Phi Gamma Delta has been on campus for two
years. The local chapter was founded on campus in 1911 and was
active for 58 years until the house was closed because of anti-war and
anti-establishment feelings at that time, according to one of its colony
members. There have been 932 members initiated into this fraternity
since its opening.
