...et al Student transcripts ready Students registered anytime during the 1976-77 academic year may obtain a free transcript of their academic record by contacting their major department. Two copies of each transcript have been sent to the student's major department. One copy is for the adviser and one is to be given to the student when he consults with the adviser. These are duplicate copies of records printed at the end of Spring term and maintained in the Office of the Registrar. Undergraduates who have not declared a major will be able to obtain a free copy at the Office of Academic Advising. Graduate stu dents should contact the Graduate School to obtain their copy. Students classified as U7 or G7 may pick up their transcript at the transcripts window in the Office of the Registrar. EPD releases bike list The Eugene Police Department has released a list of impounded bicycles for which there is no owner. Police ask students to check the list at the Police Department if they have recently lost a bicycle. Students are also reminded that no person may operate a bicyde on public streets in Eugene unless the bicycle has a city or county bike license. Licenses can now be obtained at city hall. The meeting, sponsored by University Women in Transition will feature Joan Acker, associate professor of sociology and the di rector of the Center for the Sociological Studies of Women. Auditions set Auditions for positions in the Eugene Symphony Orchestra for the 1977-78 season will be held both Wednesday and Thursday at 7:00 p.m. in the South Eugene High School band room. Applicants for principal trumpet, principal trombone and vacancies in the violin, viola, cello and string bass sections will be heard Wed nesday night. Applicants for trum pet, trombone and tuba positions will be heard Thursday night. Musicians should be prepared to play a piece of their own choos ing as well as sightread. In terested persons should contact the Eugene Symphony office at 687-0020 for specific details, or may call Sharon Gordon, at 344-1800. Kite flyers plan meeting Kite enthusiasts will meet in the Lecture Room of the Eugene Public Ubraiy Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. to explore the possibility of forming a kite dub. Up to now there has been no established means for local kite fliers to share skills and information or to fly together. Kite making, various aspects of kite flying induding kite fighting, kite photography, kites as an art form and other areas of interest will be suggested as possible adivities for a kite dub to pursue. A new film, Kites of Japan will have its Oregon premier showing at the meeting. This halt hour film was produced for the Japan Foundation under the supervision of Tadao Saito of the Japan Kite Association and author of several kite books. Scholarship established A $25,000 bequest from the estate of Mrs. Mary Y. Sawyer of Bend will establish a new graduate scholarship at the University’s School of Journalism. Dean Galen Rarick said the scholarship will be named in memory of the late Robert W. Sawyer, editor and publisher of the Bend Bulletin during the 1920s and 1930s. Mrs. Sawyer, the wife of the late Oregon newsman, died in January and established the scholarship to the Uni versity in her will. The scholarship, Rarick said, will be awarded on the basis of outstanding scholastic achievement and evidence of promise as a graduate student in journalism. Swimming class offered The Eugene Parks & Recreation Department is set to offer a specialized swimming dass geared towards disabled children who want to engage in a recreational and educational experience with their parents. The dass is designed for parents to work in the water with their children, age 13 and under. The class meets at Sheldon Pool, 3:45-4:45 p.m., Tuesdays and Fridays beginning today through October 28.
