No action is expected on the Col lege Tuition Tax Relief Act of 1977 before the Oct. 27 adjournment, according to Paul Maudlin, an AuCoin aide. He is hopeful ac tion will be taken on the measure during the next session, beginning in January. The House proposal would provide a $250 tax credit set up on a similar basis to the legislation before the Senate. However, the bill is scheduled to go into effect sooner than the Senate bill. But, it too would in crease the credit to $500 by 1980. Total cost of the House proposal is $175 million. Recruiting begins for bowlers The faculty-staff bowling league con tinues this year with a new twist — they will try to have a mixed league for the first time, depending on the turnout. There are a few vacancies on existing teams for the 1977-78 season and also room for a com pletely new team. Faculty-staff bowlers can participate in official tournaments using their EMU lanes handicap. According to League President Guy Lutz, the league has provided a unique opportunity for social interchange between professors form many different depart ments, plus some administrators and phys ical plant personnel. League activities include a pre Christmas turkey shoot and an end-of-the season sweepstakes. Those interested in participating in the league should either contact Lutz at exten sion 4691 or EMU recreation manager Mai Fiese at extension 4378.
