Downtown is home for Lane Transit District
35 cents buys ride
in and around city
Do you need a ride to campus? Valley River
Center? Or maybe you just want to get to a football
game. The Lane Transit District System (LTD) says
they will take you there — for 35 cents, up from 30
cents last year.
LTD runs all over the city and has recently been
serving the outlying areas such as Veneta, Marcola
and Jasper/Lowell. Most routes stop over at the cen
tral downtown area, the main transfer point.
To get the best results, LTD advises riders to
obtain an LTD map system and a Eugene Mail guide.
These guides are available at the EMU Main Desk
and at most of the banks in the area.
Regular service hours run from 6:30 a. m. to 6:30
p.m. The last buses leave downtown at about 11:30
p.m.
A recent addition to LTD service is the Diai-A
Bus. Senior citizens and the handicapped can be
picked up at their doors and taken to any regular bus
route destination. Reservations can be arranged by
calling 687-5566.
All LTD riders must have the exact fare, because
the drivers cany no change. For further information
