As the summer days heat up
and the mighty tensions of sum

a m to 1 p.m. Monday through
Friday. 7 to 9 p.m. Monday and

and caps are not required
Swim classes are offered as
service activity courses for begin
ners and intermediates at 8:30
a m., 1:30 p.m., 2:30 p.m. and

No Oregon summer is really
complete without a dip in one of
the numerous natural swimming
holes in the area. Aside from slow
flow areas along the Willamette
and McKenzie Rivers and their
tnbutaries, areas such as Triangle
Lake, Fern Ridge and Cougar Re
servoirs, and Big or Little Fall
Creek are great natural pools.
River swimming should be done
with caution, however, as many
people are killed annually in the
Willamette and McKenzie rivers.
Natural hot springs are also in
the area, such as near Cougar
Reservoir, Oakridge, or along the
McKenzie. Check your nearest
Oregon resident for exact
location. by Chris Junkin
