The Presidential Primary originated in Oregon and Wisconsin
shortly after the turn of the century. In 1976, more states will hold
Presidential Primaries than at any other time in America’s history.
To help voters make their decisions Tuesday, May 25, the Emerald
is offering this supplement which covers the main races and issues to
be decided at the polls.
To provide more complete coverage, the Emerald has focused on
announced candidates which will appear on the Oregon and Lane
County ballots.
