the guide.
Three thousand copies of the
guide are being published at no
cost to the University or the ASUO
by American Publishers of San
Diego, Calif.
American Publishers was
turned down last year when they
approached the University with
the handbook idea. The company
then went to the ASUO who ac
cepted the idea.

Visiting prof, to speak on ghetto
Brian Berry, professor and chairer of the University of Chicago geog
raphy department, will deliver a lecture Thursday at 8 p.m in the EMU,
room to be posted
Berry, author or contributor to more than 80 books on urban geog
raphy and planning, will speak on the topic of "Ghetto Expansion and
Housing Prices—Chicago Center, 1967-1972." The public is invited
and admission is free
Berry is well-knnwn in the field of stastical applications to urban
geography, economics, planning and regional economics During his
visit to the University, he also will meet informally with geography
students and faculty, and will deliver a short talk in the geography
department prior to his evening lecture
Employment hearing cancelled
An arbitration before the Oregon Employment Relations Board (ERB)
scheduled for Tuesday was cancelled due to the absence of the
Umversitv s lawyer, Assistant Attorney General William Hoelscher
J. Edgar Hale, arbitrator in the case, was to have heard testimony
concerning a dispute between Jack Condliffe and the University The
disagreement arose when Condliffe, a dormitory food services worker
last year in Carson Hall, was not rehired in September because he was
no longer living in the dorm.
Because of conflicting committments between the parties involved,
Condliffe says the hearing will not be re-scheduled for at least a month
Trio to conduct lectures, demos
The Elizabethan Tno. a performing group that will present a concert of
English Renaissance music and poetry tonight in Beall Hall at 8. will also
conduct lectures and demonstrations today, open to the public and free
of charge
The lecture-demonstrations also will be in Beall Hall at 2:30 and 3:30
p.m.
The evening concert is $2 for students and $3 general admission
Budget requests still coming in
Three more programs have now submitted 1976-77 budget reguests
to the ASUO Executive
Off-Campus Housing, Food-Op and Man on the Oregon Coast have
requested a total of $56,973. These programs were allocated
$16,936 13 for 1975-76.
