Says Frerichs
Thumbs down
on UO upsets
Oregon will come up empty-handed in its
quest for upsets over UCLA and USC
Thursday and Saturday, according to the
prognostications of Glen Frenchs.
The Ducks should drop a ten-point decision
to UCLA tomorrow night, he says. USC,
meanwhile, is a one-point favorite over the
Kamikaze Kids, who dropped two-point and
one-pomt decisions to the Troians last year.
In other Pac-8 action, Oregon State is
favored by a point over USC Thursday night
but rates an eight-point underdog to UCLA.
Washington, which jumped to eighth in this
week s AP rankings, should extend its win
string to 13 games with victories over California
and Stanford
Frerich s ratings are based on scores of
previous games with an adjustment for the
difficulty of the opposition Game predictions
are obtained by taking the difference between
the ratings of the teams and then adding on the
home-team advantage of 3.46 points
