Three separate guarantees, honored at all Capitol
warehouses, completely protect your tire invest
ment.
• TREADWEAR GUARANTEE
PRORATED ON THE BASIS OF GUARANTEED
MILEAGE, with no time limit. Capitol guarantees
that should the original purchaser not receive the
mileage guaranteed. Capitol will give credit on a
new tire, prorated on the basis of mileage, based on
the original purchase price, not including federal,
state, or local taxes. EXAMPLE: It a $20.00 tire with
a 30.000-mile guarantee wears smooth at 15.000
miles, you will receive credit of S10.00 toward the
purchase of a new tire. (Applies only to car on which
tires were originally mounted.)
• WORKMANSHIP ANO MATERIALS
GUARANTEE
PRORATED ON THE BASIS OF TREAD DEPTH. Any
lire sold by Capitol that fails due to defects in
workmanship or material during the first 25% of
tread depth will be replaced free of charge. Failures
beyond 25% of tread depth will receive credit to
ward the purchase of a new tire based on the re
maining tread depth, prorated on the original
purchase price, not including federal, state or local
taxes.
• ROAD HAZARD GUARANTEE
PRORATED ON THE BASIS OF TREAD DEPTH (Does
not apply to truck or commercial tires.) Any pas
senger tire that fails due to road hazards will re
ceive credit toward the purchase of a new tire based
on the remaining tread depth, prorated on the origi
nal purchase price, not including federal, state or
local taxes. Repairable punctures and tires that
have been run flat are not included.
• FURTHER GUARANTEE INFORMATION
The three guarantees above are completely
separate and parts of one will not be inter
changed with another.
These guarantees cover tires used in normal pas
senger car service by the original purchaser on the
car on which tires were originally mounted.
These guarantees do not cover tires damaged by
willful abuse, fire, collision, or run flat.
These guarantees do not cover a tire which fails or
wears smooth if there is obvious irregular wear due
to improper wheel alignment, improper inflation of
the tire, or other mechanical defects on the vehicle.
These guarantees do not cover any tire used in any
form of racing.
These guarantees do not cover passenger tires used
in commercial service, or trucks, or taxicabs.
The tread wear guarantee does not apply to front
wheel drive vehicles, pick up trucks, campers, spe
cial type vehicles, buses, or travel trailers
Defective tires and customer's invoice copy must be
returned to any Capitol Sales/Warehouse for ad
justment under these exclusive guarantees.
Capitol's tread wear guarantee is predicated on
proper wheel alignment and normal deriving condi
tions at normal speeds. Correct inflation pressures,
frequent rotation of tires and general good vehicle
maintenance will assist in achieving greater tire
mileage, and promote safety in driving. Excessive
speed, overloading, fast starts, and quick stops
adversely affect tire mileage. Safe driving habits
promote longer tire life—as well as your own.
