Bob Straub, a Democrat, can be the next
Governor of the State of Oregon. By experience and
inclination he is prepared to do the job. As
Governor he would provide leadership that defines
the public interest in terms of our common good.
What are the interests of the people of Oregon?
Bob Straub knows one of them is a livable en
vironment. Ecology has alerted us to the unex
pected danger of upsetting the balance of nature in
the course of transforming our environment. That
danger is real.
Bob believes the existence of humanity is based
upon a few simple natural conditions: air to
breathe, food to eat, and water to drink. Bob Straub
does not want a concrete and steel city from
Eugene to Portland. He knows the rich soil of the
Willamette Valley must be saved for production of
food stuffs. Some of our basic industries which
process raw materials are polluting our en
vironment through emission of poisonous wastes.
Bob Straub believes that condition must be
corrected. Bob Straub believes energy resources on
public lands should be developed by public entities,
in the public interest and the giveaway of public
resources to large corporations must cease.
We must be concerned with the preservation of
our homeland.
