Council Chambers, which will
focus on identifying problems in
serving the elderly.
The free session is sponsored
by the University of Oregon
School of Community Service and
Public Affairs (CSPA) and was
organized by students in a CSPA
class on inter-governmental
relations.
Six authorities on aging
programs will be featured in a
“Meet the Press” format in
which they will be questioned by
student panelists.

Metal shop open for use
The Metal Shop, Room 28, Science I, is available for use. Students
who wish to use the Student Shop should complete a shop course in
orientation (5 hours of shop equipment).
The class will be of your choice and time Monday through Friday,
8 a m. through 5 p.m. There is a sign-up sheet in the Student Shop.
Individualized instruction is available from the shop supervisor and a
time can be arranged at the convenience of the student.
ASUO to review budget divisions
The ASUO Constitution Committee has received a request for the
interpretation of Art. VII, section I and Art. V, section II of the ASUO
Constitution. These articles deal with the division of budget matters
between the Executive and the Incidental Fee Committee.
The Constitution Committee will hold a hearing on the in
terpretation at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday in the EMU. Anyone interested in
submitting arguments should contact the Chairer, Steve Rhodes, at
686-4355. Deadline for submitting arguments is noon Monday.
Nigerians to celebrate independence
All Nigerian students at the University are invited to celebrate the
13th anniversary of Nigerian independence from 8 p.m. till dawn
Saturday in the Westmoreland Housing Lounge. The party will include
free music and plenty of free drinks. Everyone is invited. Those
needing rides should call 342-7935, 343-7095 or 342-8085.

Poetry reading to aid community school
A poetry reading to benefit Children’s Community School is
scheduled for 8 p.m. today. The reading will be held in the cafeteria of
Lincoln School, 13th and Jefferson. A donation of $1 is asked.
KLCC carries Watergate hearings
Gavel-to-gavel coverage of the second round of Watergate
hearings will be carried live on Lane Community College’s FM station
KLCC
The decision to carry the hearings was made after the three major
networks announced they were dropping coverage of the current
session, which is expected to last until the end of October.
The hearings can be heard at 90.3 on the FM dial.
Auto donated to LCC
Ford Motor Co. has donated a 1973 Maverick to the auto
mechanics department at Lane Community College (LCC).
The Maverick, scheduled to arrive at the college in about a week,
is specially-prepared for instruction and will be used both by the auto
mechanics and auto body and fender students at LCC
E.A. Mock & Sons was the local agency which acted on the LCC
request for a late-model car to be used in the mechanics program.
Other late model autos donated to the department over the past few
years include a Toyota and a Chrysler station wagon.
