why vote?
Next year the
ASUO Executive, the Con
stitution Committee and the
special co-governance Com
mittee must rise above the
politics of the past year, must
dispense with the naive
platitudes of “Ihem versus us”
administration vs. students
and must realize that the con
fidentiality and trust, which are
pai\ ui me requirements of any
worthwhile relationship, are
more critical at that level.
Confrontation will not realise co
governance. Reason could. Sure
it’ll be difficult. And there’s only
a short year to do it in. And not
too many students and faculty
understand what’s involved - yet.
But whoever is elected President
and Vice-President of this
ca,. pus will have a mandate for
responsibility, for rationality, for
compassion, so that the foun
dation that has be -n started these
past months, so that the effective
management of student
programs in next years, will be
secured.
It’s not a sinecure:
It’s an opportunity to grow in so
many ways. It’s also an op
portunity to serve all of us,
students, faculty, administrators
and staff, in this supposedly
academic community.
Two candidates will be elected.
Your vote will help decide
whether so-called “political
commodities” or real students
are given that mandate. You’re,
therefore, part of the problem.

1 Red Ballot: ASUO President and Vice-President - ONE VOTE ONLY
Recall the President - ONE VOTE ONLY (per presidential ticket)
I. Blue Ballot: Class Officers: In your class. ONE VOTE FOR PRESIDENT
and ONE VOTE FOR VICE PRESIDENT (Total ..o votes)
3 Green Ballot: OSFlRG: TWO VOTES ONLY
The student must mark his vote by punching out (with a pencil) the die-cut
piece of the card within the brackets to the left of the name cf the candidate(s)
for whom they wish to vote. Any adhering punch pieces must be picked off the
back so as not to foul the computer.
More than the allowed number of votes-holes will invalidate that ballot.
Write in votes (are permitted on Primary Ballots only.) wHI not be
computed on the General Ballots.

The third and fourth paragraphs of Article V of the I US
Constitution shall be amemded to read:
Actions of the Delegate Assembly shall be approved by
two thirds of the delegates present, provided that no
business shall be conducted unless a quorum consisting
of at least one plus one-half of the current delegates are
present and at least two thirds of the member
delegations
There shall be three voting delegates from each in
stitution
