Where can Rover run11 The City of Eugene has designated four
unimproved city park areas where dog owners may exercise their pets
off a leash City ordinances require that dogs be on a leash anywhere
else in the city, except the owner's property.
The areas designated include:
The unimproved section of Amazon Park between 29th and 30th
Avenues and the area west of the Amazon drainage canal;
— The unimproved section of Skinner Butte Park on the west side
of Owens Rose Garden and the Washington-Jefferson Street Bridge
along the Willamette River to North Polk Street;
— The unimproved section of Westmoreland Park from Polk to
Fillmore Streets between the tennis courts and Westmoreland
Community Center;
— .All of Bloomberg Park off East 30th Ave at the end of Bloom
berg Road.
A small flyer with maps of these areas and the pertinent city or
dinances is now available at Eugene Parks and Recreation Depart
ment in City Hall, the Lane County Dog Control office or the Lane
Humane Society

Home ec shcolarship applications open
The home economics department is accepting applications fo'S
scholarship, according to Margaret Wiese, department head Ait
plications, due May 15, are open to any woman student, preferably
unmarried, with interest and ability in the field of home economics
The student need not be a home economics major however the
department has set up guidelines as to how many credit hours the
student must have taken in the field. The scholarship, for the 1973.-4
school year, will be awarded on the basis of financial need.

The Iranian Students Association (ISA) on campus are presenting
a number of programs next Monday May 7, thru Friday. Mav Ub

Scholarship offered women
In order to implement its authorization by the Phi Chi Theta
Foundation "to grant scholarships, taking into account the need
scholastic achievement, leadership qualities, character, activities,
motivation, and potential of all applicants,' the Phi Chi Theta
Foundation Scholarship Committee announces that it will award two
scholarships for $150 each for the 1973-1974 academic year
All undergraduate and graduate women students in the field of
business and-or economics may apply
The deadline for application is May 20. 1973 All applications and
supporting documents must be mailed to the Scholarship Chaireraad
must be postmarked on or before that date. Scholarship winners nil

English professor elected to post
Christof Wegelin. professor of English at the University, has neec
elected president of the Philological Association of the Pacific Coast
Wegelin. who has taught at the University since 1952 has®
previous years been the recipient of a Guggenheim Fellowshipanda
National Endowment for the Humanities grant and has publish®
extensively on the subject of the 19th century international novel
