Reading skills course offered
The Study Skills Center at the University is offering an eight
weeks’ course in Accelerated Reading for anyone wishing to improve
his reading rates, recall, comprehension, and summarizing.

Psych courses' numbers confused
Students enrolled in the 214,215, and 216 psychology sequence may
be surpnsecd to learn that they are taking the wrong courses, ac
cording to the psychology department. t
The department reports that many students are confused about
changes in the sequence made last fall. Students who took the old
216 called Personality and Individual Differences, should not take the
“new” 214 because the “new” 214 is the same class and students will
not get credit for it if they have token the “old” 216, the department

High school band to perform
The Orem Utah High School Band will perform at the School of
Music Recital Hall at 12:30 p.m. today.
On Saturday at 8 p.m., Randolph Bourne will present a master’s
degree recital, which will be a presentation of organ music from 1650
to 1850, including works by Tunder, Practorius. Schildt, Walther, Bach
and Mendelssohn-Bartholdy
And. an April Fool's Day program will be presented at the hall at 8
p.m. Sunday.
'Hypothermia' film shown today
The film “Hypothermia” will be shown at 6 p.m. today in the
EMU, sponsored by the ASUO Outdoor Program. “Hypothermia is
known as the killer of the unprepared." according to program
mountaineer Jeff Elphinston
“ Its principle cause is excessive loss of body heat The film shows
people making the common mistakes that cause hypothermia.
Anyone who is into camping, skiing, boating or any outdoor activity
should see this film,” he said.
Experimental films offered
The public is invited to a free program of experimental films
todayin Room 177 Lawrence Hall at 4:30p.m.
The program is sponsored by the U of O School of Architecture and
Allied Arts as part of a spring term series of faculty lectures and films.

Dreams subject of YMCA class
Beginning on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. at the YMCA, a course will
be offered on self images in dreams. The focus of the course will be on
the identification of self images as they appear in dreams, daydreams,
and fantasies, and upon the evaluation of these images.
Some attention will be paid to the historical use and understanding
of dreams and to their current importance in psychotherapy. But the
primary goal of the class is to look at the importance of dreams and
dreamlike activity in the development of the mature person.
The course is intended to demonstrate that the awareness of self
images in dreams can lead to a higher sense of self definition and self
direction, and to a greater ability to shape one’s seif image.
The instructor for the course is Tom Giesen, who has taught at
Tougaloo College and Lane Community College. Cost is $10 for YMCA
members and $12 for non-members
VVAW Hanoi visitor to speak
Barry Romo, a national coordinator far the Vietnam Veterans
Against the War, Winter Soldier, will be speaking in Eugene at 7:30
Saturday, in the Central Presbyterian Church, 15th and Ferry.
In December 1972, former Army lieutenant Romo, Joan Baez,
Telford Taylor, and Reverend Michael Allen, were invited to the
Democratic Republic of Vietnam. When in Hanoi, the peace
delegation witnessed the bombings of schools, nurseries arid hospitals
