Correction on reversed caption
Two photo captions appearing with a story on a Eugene Human
Rights Commission hearing in Thursday’s Emerald were inad
vertently reversed.
Roscoe Wright, Eugene resident, was mistakenly identified as
Dominick Vetri, ACLU representative, and Vetri was mistakenly
identified as Wright.
Panel discusses careers in information
A workshop, “Careers in Information,” will be held at the
University Saturday, Jan. 27. Hie morning session from 10:30 a.m. to
12:30 p.m. at the EMU, will feature a'panel of seven professionals
engaged in several special fields of information services.
Following the morning meeting, guest panelists will be honored at
a luncheon at 1:00 p.m. in the Union.
Public seminar on photography today
A free public seminar on photography will be presented today at
the University by medical photographer Paul Macapia, whose
exhibition “The Land and the Sea” is being shown through Saturday at
the EMU Art Gallery. .
Macapia will discuss his photographic techniques, demonstrate
equipment, ssd show did® from 3 to 5p.m., in the EMU.
Jazz and rock concert today
The “12:30 Lab Band” of Lane Community College will perform
an hour long concert of jazz and rock today in the School of Music
Recital Hall.
Suitably enough, the 23-piece band will begin at 12:30 pm.
Film on logging scheduled
A documentary on loggers, old-time logging, and the land in
Pacific Northwest forests will be shown today at the University. The
showing of “Natural Timber Country” will be a free public event at
4:30 p.m., in 177 Lawrence Hall

Indoor "Saturday Market’ to debut
A Saturday Market “moved indoors” will begin this Saturday and
continue for one Saturday a month through April.
The Saturday Crafts Fair will run from 10 am. until 5 pm. at the
Lane County Fairgrounds and will feature local craftsmen and en
tertainers Admission is 25 cents for adults and 10 cents for children.
Hie other dates for the fair are February 3, March 10 and April 7.
Craftsmen interested in exhibiting their wares should call Ed Reed at

Counseling group holds workshop
Evaluation Co-Counseling is a group formed to offer a new and
unique way of working on individual problems. They are having a
counseling introduction workshop Saturday from 10 am. to 4 p.m. at
2274 Onyx St.
The focus of the group is on learning to discharge the emotional
stress of past experiences. This discharge, in forms of crying,
laughing or trembling, releases the pain. Once the pain is released the
“Client views the problem being desilt with not in terms of pent up pain
but through his unstressed rational, intelligent mind.”

Varied menu at Vietnamese dinner
A Vietnamese dinner is bong held at 6 p.m. today at the Central
Presbyterian Church, 1475 Ferry St.
The dinner will feature a menu of chicken with many vegetables,
nuoc mam sauce, steamed rice, green tea and «*mnw» cookies. The
meal is being sponsored by Medical Aid for Indochina.
Suggested donation for the dinner is $1.50 for adults and children
under 12, 50 cents.
Safety for the beginning boater
The Coast Guard will present a “Saturday Outboard Special”
program next Thursday from 7-9 p.m. at the Marine Corps Reserve
Training Center on 13th Ave.
The program is about basic boating safety and will cover subjects
such as rules of the road, how to repair an engine during flotation and
hw to use a fire extinguisher. The program is aimed at the beginning
boater and there is no charge.
