    Films booked for winter
Winter term at the University will see a full line-up of en
tertainment and cultural events through the programming of the
ASUO Cultural Forum.
To date, ten films have been scheduled for the “Sunday Film
Senes.” A William Friedkin film festival has also been slated for
February 6 through 8. Friedkin, director of “French Connection,”
will speak on February 8 at 3 p.m. and again at 8 p.m.
Friedkin’s films “The Night They Raided Minsky’s" and “Boys in
the Band” will be shown on February 6 and 7, respectively.
The regular Sunday film series includes “Klute,” a “Flash
Gordon” serial which runs alternate Sundays for the entire term,
“Sunday Bloody Sunday,” “The Crowd,” “Garden of the Finzi Con
tinis,” “Fury,” “Greed,” “Straw Dogs,” and “Citizen Kane.”
On the agenda for speakers is Buckminster Fuller, who will speak
in Mac Court at 8 p.m. on Tuesday, January 9. No admission will be
charged. Mr. Fuller’s address is entitled “This Spaceship Earth.”
Rita Moran, an Irish-American feminist will be speaking on
“Ireland in Revolt” January 10at 8p.m. in the Dad’s Room.
Congresswoman Shirley Chisholm will speak mi February 15. No
admission will be charged for Ms. Chisholm’s 8 p.m. EMU Ballroom
presentation, “Humanism for Blacks and Whites.”
Folk concerts for the term include the “Sawtooth Mountain
Boys” on Friday, February 2. Admission is $1.00 and 50 cents for
children to this 8 p.m. Music School Recital Hall event.
Gordon Deane will also perform in a folk concert on Friday,
February 23, at 8 p.m. in the EMU Ballroom. Admission of $1.00and 50
cents for children will be charged.
Cultural Forum concerts begin with guitarist Leo Kottke. Kottke
will perform on Thursday, January 11 in the EMU Ballroom at 8 p.m.
Admission is $2.00. Tickets are available at the usual ticket outlets:
Chrystalship, Sun Shop and the EMU Main Desk.
Saxophonist Grover Wahington, Jr. will perform in concert
Sunday, January 28 in the EMU Ballroom. $2.50 will be charged for
Washington’s 7:30 and 10 p.m. concerts.
Mike and Alice Seeger, folk singers, will perform on Sunday,
February 18. $1.50 will be charged for their performance — 8 p.m. in
the EMU Ballroom.
