You’ve got a place in the
Emerald
The Oregon Daily Emerald, the
student operated, student-published
newspaper at the University ot Oregon,
will be publishing tive times a week this
fall, winter and spring. Monday through
Friday.
As a student newspaper, we always
are in need of more help. You can provide
that help. And you can help in any way
you want:
— If you like reporting, we need you
— for beat coverage, general assign
ments, or both. We especially would like
persons who would like to do "people"
type reporting, examining people as iust
themselves, what they think, why tney
think it. Also, copy editors are welcome.
— If you're a photographer, or would
like to learn, we need you to cover a wide
variety of day assignments and spot
assignments. Also, we need people who
are capable of producing feature
material, stuff that photography pages
are made of.
— If you like sportswriting, we need
you to cover spot assignments and
feature stories.
If you want to sell ads, we need vou
to apply for several ad sales positions still
available.
And the positions are all open — now.
All ot our jobs pay. Some of them
not as much as others, but all pay
something.
More than the money, though, the
Emerald can offer you real work ex
perience — in nearly every area of
newspaper journalism. Students who
have been working in college journalism,
who have gained experience in the field
and who have gained expertise — through
combinations of experience and training
are ready and willing to offer you
training and assistance.
You don't have to be a journalism
major to work on the Emerald. You just
need an interest. On whatever area
of the newspaper you're interested in —
reporting, photography, advertising —
the Emerald has a place for you.
If you're interested in becoming part
of the Emerald, stop on up at the office,
301 Allen Hall.
(The Emerald is an Equal Em
ployment Opportunity Employer. Women
and Minority persons are encouraged to
apply.)
