Local minister
to be featured
on broadcast
Rev. Don Gall, a Eugenean who
was arrested recently in
Washington D.C. for anti-war
activity, will be featured in a
televised broadcast this
weekend. The Presbyterian
minister will be speaking at 11:15
p.m., Sunday, on Channel 9
(KEZI). The broadcast is being
sponsored by the Eugene chapter
of Clergy and Laymen Concerned
(CALC).
Gall traveled to Washington in
mid-May as part of a national
CALC lobbying effort regarding
the Church-Case amendment, a
bill to eu' off funds for the In
dochina war.
The day the group arrived the
bill was effectively killed in the
Senate by passage of a rider, so
the ministers and laymen
decided to demonstrate to make
their presence known.
Gall and 132 others, including
Dr. Benjamin Spock and Yale
chaplain William Sloan Coffin,
were arrested when they
remained in the Rotunda past
closing time, conducting a
worship service. Gall chose to
j spend two days in jail rather than
[ pay the $25 fine for the offense.

Cultural forum to sponsor dance
The ASUO Cultural Forum is sponsoring a dance Friday night
from 8-12 in the EMU Ballroom. Music will be by the “Sub Zero
Family Band.” Admission is one dollar.
Prof receives award for article
Willis Greer, assistant professor of accounting at the University
received the Lybrand Silver Medal from the National Assn, of At.
countants (NAA), at a recent conference of that organization!
Philadelphia. Greer's work placed second in competition with men
than 1.000 manuscripts. His article “Better Motivation for Time
Constrained Sequential Production Process” won the award It wtf
be published in August's “Management Accounting,” the office
publication of NAA.
Record policy hearing set
A public hearing on the proposed Student Record Policy of tlx
University will beheld from 9 a m. to 10:30 a.m. next Thursday, inj>
Johnson Hall Conference Room.
The proposed rules define “personal” records, describe
procedures under which records are established and retained,
designate certain records as confidential, and describe the conditiog
under which access to records will be restricted.
Copies of the proposed Student Record Policy are on file and ops
to public inspectionn at the following locations: Office of Gerali
Bogen, vice president for student services (110 Johnson); Office if
Robert Bowlin, dean of student personnel services (258 Emerald),
Office of David Frohnmayer, assistant to the President (319 Lai
School Building); Bill Wyatt, ASUO President, (308 EMU); and Cliff
Zukin, ASUO Senate President (311 EMU).
Wyatt to speak before interim committee
ASUO President Bill Wyatt will speak at Friday's meeting ol tit
Interim Education Committee in Salem. Wyatt’s topic will be ‘T*
Goals of Education.”
Also appearing before the committee will be Roy I.ieuaUen,
chancellor of the state system of higher education; Floyd Steam,
chairman of the Educational Coordinating Council; and Dale Par
nell, superintendent of public instruction.
Feliciano concert canceled
The Jose Feliciano concert scheduled for 8 p.m. Saturday at Mat
Court, has been canceled.

Council agrees to hearing on closure
The Eugene City Council agreed Wednesday to call for a put*
hearing for August 14 on a Eugene Planning Commission request It
close a portion of the alley north of 11th Street between Pearl and Hi#
Streets. The closure would be necessary for construction of the
proposed Benjamin Franklin Savings and Loan building
The council action came at its regular weekly Committee-oMte
Whole meeting in the Eugene Hotel.
Demoforum conference scheduled
Demoforum ’72 has been scheduled for July 28-30 at Kah-NeeTs
Lodge near Warm Springs in Central Oregon.
The fifth annual conference is expected to draw more than 3#
persons this year to a weekend of discussions on issues facing
Oregonians apd looking at ways of financing solutions.
Demoforum '72 is a state wide group of progressive Democrats,
open to anyone, which meets annually. It pursued a lobbying program
at the 1971 legislature.
More than 250 persons partic ipated in Demoforum ’71.
