Co-op elections slated next week
Voting for the University Co-operative Store Board of Directors
will be held Monday through Friday of next week at the Co-op.
These are the candidates running:
— Faculty position: Dwaine Richins, John Wish (vote for one).
— Freshman position: Brian Mahoney, David Igl (vote for one).
— Sophomore position: Pete Hall (vote for two).
— Graduate student position: Marie Hartmen, George Neilson,
Peter Dykman (vote for two).
— Student-at-large position: Rick Wagner, Mike Doran (vote for
one).
Policy hearing date in error
An open hearing will be held for persons wishing to comment upon
the proposed student records policy for the University on Friday,
April 28, from 11 to 12 p.m. in 101 EMU.
The Emerald incorrectly reported Tuesday that the bearing would
be held this Friday.
Copies of the text of the proposed policy are available for
examination in 258 Emerald Hall, 110 Johnson Hall, and the office of
each academic dean.
The Emerald printed the full text of the proposed policy March 8.
Luau set for Saturday
Hui O Kamaaina of the University will hold a luau at 6:30 p.m. this
Saturday at McArthur Court. Admission is $3.50 for dinner and en
tertainment, $1.50 for entertainment only. Children eight years old or
younger are free. Tickets are available at the Bronson Travel Bureau
and the EMU.
Jones to speak at CSPA
Johnathan West, an appointed member of District 4J School Board
seeking election to a full four year term, was scheduled to speak at the
C.S.P.A. Conversation this Thursday noon in the EMU. Because of a
conflict, West will not appear.
Jay Jones, a co-worker and colleague of West’s,will speak in his
place.
The topic for discussion will be West’s thoughts and views of the
responsibilites of a school board member as part of a team.
Littman clarifies task force vote
Richard Littman, University vice provost and chairman of the
Affirmative Action Task Force, said Wednesday that he did not vote in
the task force’s action to give priority to minority candidates for the
interim and permanent directorship of the Office for Affirmative
Action.
The Emerald reported Wednesday that Littman abstained from
voting in Tuesday’s task force action.
Littman said Wednesday that he did not abstain, explaining that
he didn’t vote because of his role as chairman.
The task force voted 3-2 to give priority to minority candidtaes.

Management seminar scheduled
The Administrative Management Society will hold a seminar on
“Management & Communication Process” from 9:30a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
today in the Eugene Hotel.
The session will be for executives, managers and supervisors who
are concerned with employee productivity and their own effectiveness
in controlling costs and improving profits.
Registration fee will be $10 for students, $15 for AMS members,
and $20 for all other persons.
International dinner to be held
The annual International Dinner for foreign students, friendship
families and others interested will be held at 6 p.m. this Saturday, in
the cafeteria of South Eugene High School on east 19th Avenue.
Each family is asked to bring a casserole or main dish sufficient to
serve 12 persons and a salad or dessert. Many families enjoy bringing
a dish distinctive of some foreign country.

chman at the Foreign Student Office, 686-3207.
Saturday last day to register to vote
Persons wishing to vote in the May 23 primary, must be registered
by Saturday, Apr. 22.
Polling places in the campus area include: EMU Terrace—
Wednesday through Saturday; Co-op Bookstore—Thursday and
Friday; dormitory dining halls—Wednesday through Friday; and, the
downtown Eugene Mall—Saturday.
