Kimerling works exhibited
An exhibition of paintings by Kim Kimerling is
scheduled for Jan. 3 through Jan. 21 in the EMU Art
Gallery on the mezzanine. The exhibition includes
artworks in oils, watercolor, acrylic and stitchery.
Address reports due
Every foreign student is required by law to file
an annual address report in January. To do this he
should obtain form 1-53 from a post-office. Each
foreign student is also required to report any
change of address within 10 days and to file a
quarterly address report on form AR-11, also ob
tainable at a post office.
Series on aging offered
A series of courses in how to deal with one’s
aging parents, relatives and friends is being offered
by the Oregon Center for Gerontology and the
Division of Continuing Education. The classes will
broaden understanding of the aging process and will
provide a background for many of the problems
faced by the elderly. The series will be presented
from 7:30 to 9:30 Tuesday evenings from Jan. 11 to
March 14. at the Celeste Campbell Senior Center,
1515 High Street. The cost of the series is $12 for all
ten lectures, or $1.50 for each individual lecture
attended
Italian summer credit
This year, for the first time, students will be
able to receive University credit for attending the
summer session at the Italian University for
Foreigners at Perugia. Italy.
All courses are taught in Italian by Italian
professors and include Italian language, literature,
history, philosophy, drama, art and music. Un
dergraduate students, who must have a B average
to enroll, my earn 8-12 quarter hours of credit at the
University.
According to Sylvia Giustina. University in
structor in Italian, who is coordinating the
program, beginning students in Italian will be
accepted, but those with a previous knowledge of
the language have a wider range of courses from
which to choose.
Cost for tuition and fees is $180. Individual
students arrange for their own travel, and for room
and board. Students will be helped to locate lodgings
from a list made avilable by the Italian University.

Commission liaison named
University President Robert Clark has named
Stanton Cook, director of the University s En
vironmental Studies Center, to act as University
liaison with Pacific Northwest River Basins
Commission.
Ted Suderburg, Oregon representative to the
Commission, had asked President Clark to
designate a University liaison. Suderburg said the
Commission has asked the University faculty for
advice, review comments, or for participation in
various programs, and that the Commission in
turn has made data available, provided classroom
guest lecturers, and joined with faculty in related
studies.
Rettie papers show view
An inside view of Federal economic planning
and internal operations at the top level are provided
in the papers of a native Oregonian who was a
senior economist in the U.S. Department of the
Interior.
The papers of the late James Rettie have been
placed in the University Library by Mrs. Rettie of
Arlington, Va.
Rettie, who was born in Fossil, Oregon, was
graduated from Willamette University and at
tended Yale University.
“Woman” photo exhibit
A major photographic exhibit sponsored by the
Friends of the Museum and organized by the World
Exhibition of Photography in Hamburg, Germany,
will open at the University’s Museum of Art
January 15 and continue through February 27.
Titled “Woman.” the exhibit is appearing
concurrently at major museums and galleries
throughout the world. It contains 522 photos from 85
countries.
