Peter Rabbit
“Peter Rabbit and Tales of Beatrix Potter,”
is a delightful MGM presentation of Miss Pot
ter’s famed children’s stories interpreted by the
Royal Ballet. The Technicolor film was
choreographed by Sir Frederick Ashton to the
music of John Lanchbery of Covent Garden
Opera House.
Peter Rabbit, Jemima Puddle-Duck, Pigling
Bland, Jeremy Fisher, Squirrel Nutkin, Hunca
Munca, Mr. Fox, Tabitha Twitchit, Mrs. Tiggy
Winkle, Mrs. Tittlemouse and Johnny Town
Mouse are a few of the farm and field folk
represented in the film.
Richard Goodwin produced “Peter Rabbit
and Tales of Beatrix Potter,” an adaptation by
himself and his wife, Christine Edzard, who also
created the costumes and settings. John
Brabourne is executive producer for the EMI
Film Prod. Ltd. Reginald Mills directed the John
Brabourne-Richard Goodwin Production.
Some of the dancers of the Royal Ballet (in
association with the Royal Opera House, Covent
Garden) appearing are Alexander Grant, Julie
Wood, Keith Martin, Ann Howard, Robert Mead,
Sally Ahsby, Brenda Last, Michael Coleman,
Wayne Sleep, Lesley Collier and Leslie Edwards.
