a former University student will

Walter Fischer, owner of
Eugene's C/umn’s Market, on

Fischer was shot with a 12
gauge shotgun while in his store
and died several hours later at
Sacred Heart General Hospital
The men involved in tile hold up
attempt apparently fled without
taking any money
Hie two other men charged in
connection with the shooting are
Jerome Prestun Foster, also a
former University student, and
Hilly Charles Anfield Cortland
Drew s trial, which is expected
to last two to three weeks, will be
presided over by Circuit Court
Judge Douglas Spencer
The former University student
is defended by Kugene attorneys

Several films by three major film-makers Akira Kurosawa,
Jean l.uc (><>dard ami Howard Hawks will be shown at the University
through June 2, 1870
The films will be shown mostly on Mondays and Wednesdays in
conjunction with a University course. Film and Literature The films

attend the l S Naval Academy's l lth Foreign Affairs Conference in
Annapolis, Maryland. April 19-22
Tins is the first year a university student has attended the annual
r\ent which attempts txrth to educate students and to actually involve
them in |wlicy making decisions on international affairs
Student delegates have lieen chosen on the liasis of academic
achievement and interest in foreign affairs
