gripe session
The University Co-op will hold
a gripe session today at 4:00 p.m.
in the conference room.
All students are invited to
attend and offer complaints or
suggestions on the Co-op’s
operation. All of the Co-op board
of directors and the manager will
be on hand to answer student
complaints.

ROTC protest slated
The new, ROTC headquarters on Alder St. will be condemned
Wednesday.
The condemnation, to come as the conclusion of a march “against
this increasing war in Indochina,” will be for “war crimes” instead of
unsafe conditions in the building.
Hie march from the EMU to the ROTC budding will begin at the
EMU at noon. But the march will not be a normal protest march—it
will include floats and a marching band. According to leaflets, the
“People’s Marching Band will be making its grand debut and
everybody is invited to bring instruments. Also on hand will be floats
and a chalk-in.”
Department gets grant
The University mathematics department has received a $12,110
grant from the National Science Foundation to support a summer
undergraduate research participation program.
At least ten undergraduate students from the University and other1
colleges and universities will conduct research projects for 10 weeks:
supervised by faculty members. Stipends of $60 per week will be given:
to the researchers, plus tuition and fees payment and travel expenses:
in some instances.
The program, which begins June 21, will be directed by Andrew
Moursund, professor of mathematics. Richard Koch, associate
professor of mathematics will also be involved in the program.

Duck Preview Feb. 6
High school students and their parents from throughout the state
are invited to attend the annual University Preview, Feb. 6 on the
University campus.
The day will begin at 8:30 a.m. with registration in the EMU.
Following registration and an orientation session there will be a series
of special interest meetings which focus on general topics such as
student housing, advising and student activities. At 11:45 there is a
luncheon planned in the EMU and the afternoon will be filled with
academic sessions where guests will visit colleges and schools that
they are interested in attending.
