Rock Vi roll course
scheduled this term
History of Rock’n Roll will be
offered again this term.
The SEARCH course was
originally offered up until
registration time earlier this
week, when the SEARCH office
received word from the course’s
instructor, David Ford, that he
wouldn’t be able to teach it. Ford
said he was going to leave the
Eugene area, SEARCH director
Barry Stranahan said.
However, a new instructor was
found for the course Thursday—
Sanders King, a professional
musician.
King told the Emerald the
rock’n roll course will be offered
at the same time as was
originally planned, for the same
number of credits and with the
same amount of credit.
Its term line number is 6342,
Mus 407, and will be taught in
Studio B of the Library from 1:30
to 3:30 p.m. on Thursdays. It is
offered for either one or two
credits.
Registration for the course is in
the music school building, King
said.
Course description for the
rock’n roll class reads:
“Chronological description and
discussion of rock and roll
development from about 1950 to
the present.”
King said he would, in addition
to in-class work, like to “instigate
doing things outside of the school
area,” such as have a group
perform or talk when it comes to
Eugene.
It was offered fall term for one
credit only.
History of Rock’n Roll is
limited to 50 students.
