Meetings
The ASUO Senate will meet at 7

Films, Concerts
The Slavic Club and the department
of Russian will sponsor an unusual film
about a Polish draft dodger and his
view of alienated youth in “beat” War
saw society, at 7 and 9:15 p.m. Friday
in 180 PLC. Admission is $1. There will
also be a Czech short subject.
“Tonio Kroger” will be presented by
the German Film Series at 7 and 9
p.m. Saturday, Nov. 22 in 150 Science.
The film will have German dialogue
with English subtitles. Admission is
75 cents.
“Mutiny on the Bounty*’ will be pre
sented by the Political Science Film
Festival at 4:30, 7, and 9:15 p.m. Friday
in 150 Science. Episode #9 of “King
of the Rocket Men” will also be shown.
Admission will be charged. Children
under 12 admitted free with paying
adult.
“Katz and Maus,’* from the Gunter
Grass novel of a youth maturing in
Nazi Germany, plus a D'Avino anima
tion and an O'Neill optical abstraction
will be shown at 7 and 9:15 p.m. Sun
day in the University Theater, pre
sented by the Film Society. Member
ships are still available.
A 30-minute filmed interview with
Carl Jung will be shown at 8:30 tonight
in studio “B” in the Library. Anyone
is welcome.
Miscellaneous
A roundtable presentation of papers
on the Treaty with Canada for Joint
Development of the Columbia River
will be held at 3:30 p.m. today in
705 PLC.
Garber Nursing Home has an arts
and crafts program which can use old
nylons, fabrics, beads, etc. They are
also sponsoring a Christmas gift drive
for those who don’t have families or
are on welfare. Toilet items are es
pecially welcome. Drop them off at the
“Hidden Door” YWCA in Gerlinger.

Michael Sigell, program administra
tor for the Educational Coordinating
Council of Oregon, will be a visitor at
the University today and Friday.
He will be here to discuss, with inter
ested instructional personnel, the Ore
gon Legislature’s program of grants
and awards for the improvement of
undergraduate instruction. Sigell will
meet with faculty, by appointment, at
the Office of Federal Relations, 154
Susan Campbell Hall.
Jerry Rubin and John Froines will
speak on the Conspiracy trials in Chi
cago at 7:30 p.m. Sunday, in the EMU
Ballroom. The title of their speech
is “Freedom Can’t Be Gagged.” Ad
