That the City Council has
failed to heed this request from
students when previously pre
sented is sufficient reason for
many local citizens to help bring
this concern to action.

A week ago at the Iron But

Senior Appointed
ROTC Chief
Douglas Malkasian, a senior
business administration major,
has been appointed commander
of the University’s Army ROTC
cadet brigade for the 1968-69
school year.
Col. Elbert Curtis, head of the
Department of Military Science
and Aerospace Studies, and Ray
Hawk, director of University
Relations, announced the ap
pointment.
As Cadet brigade commander,
Malkasian holds the highest po
sition in the ROTC cadet corps.
During his tenure, Cadet Com
mander Kalasian will lead about
400 cadets.
Malkasian had previously
been honored with the “As
sociation of the U.S. Army Med
al” for leadership in advancing
the standards of the Army
ROTC brigade and the military
department, and is a member
of the Scabbard and Blade, the
ROTC honorary and service or
ganization.
The new cadet commander is
the son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred
Malkasian, 2490 Mission Ave.,
Eugene.
THE VILLA ROMA
AN UNUSUAL
DINING EXPERIENCE
KOL-FM (Seattle), mentioned
that he thought a progressive
rock or underground FM sta
tion would be well accepted in
this area.
He said that the way to get
a station on the air here was
tor everyone who would dig a
progressive rock format to ex
press themselves and it would
happen.
A progressive rock station
can become a reality within the
next three or four months or
maybe even sooner if support
is shown now. Please help.

Tigers Win ...
(Continued from page 6)
With the tying run on base,
Manager Red Schoendienst sent
Maris up to the plate to bat
for pitcher Ron Willis. Maris, a
bench warmer today who will
retire after the Series, struck
out.
The Cards still were alive
with Brock, who had 11 hits in
21 previous at bats, the batter.
Brock fouled one to left, took
a ball and then tapped back
weakly to pitcher Lolich on a
checked swing, ending the ex
citing game.

i :
Only Bic would dare to torment a beauty like this. Not the girl...
the pen she's holding. It's the new luxury model Bic Clic...designed
for scholarship athletes, lucky card players and other rich campus
socialites who can afford the expensive 49-cent price.
But don't let those delicate good looks fool you. Despite hor
rible punishment by mad scientists, the elegant Bic Clic still wrote
first time, every time. . .
Everything you want in a fine pen, you II find in the new Bic
Clic. It’s retractable. Refillable. Comes in 8 barrel colors. And like
oil Bic pens, writes first time, every time...no matter what devilish
abuse sadistic students devise for it.
