UO Fraternities
Fraternities at the University
ended their formal fall rush pe
riod Tuesday after pledging a to
tal of 33ft men, in the 31 national
fraternity houses on the earn
pus.
According to Inter-Fraternity
Council President Warren Hou
ston, an unofficial count revealed
that 010 men went through the
pledge lines this year, compared
with 470 last year. I.ast year’s
final pledge total was 200.
According to these figures, 55
per cent of the men who went
through fraternity rush this year
were finally pledged, compared
with 59 per cent after last year’s
rush.
Portland students pledged hy
the Greek houses totaled 78, and
39 pledges were from Eugene.
