moved to delete the paragraph
asking U.S. troops to stay in Viet
Nam until after the elections are
held.
He said U.S. troops should be
withdrawn as soon as possible
and the U.S. should not wait to
withdraw until the “newly elected
government so requests.”
Pruitt said the bill should advo
cate "something reasonable which
can be followed, and that the
presence of U.S. troops would
guarantee more fully a free elec
tion.”
In other business, the Senate
passed a bill, 18-0, with two ab
stentions, urging the faculty to
adopt the pass-nonpass system of
PE grading for non-majors, and
suggested a "s h a d o w grading”
system.

to raise money to help pay broad
