Assembly Group
Seeks Applicants
Applications for the new ASUO
Assembly Committee, to consist
of eight students and two fac
ulty members, are now being ac
cepted in the ASUO office, room
310 of the Student Union
The Committee will consist of
the chairman of the senate’s Aca
demic and Cultural Affairs Com
mittee and seven student-at-large
positions, besides the two fac
ulty members. The Committee
will handle arrangements next
year for speakers and assembly
programs at the University.
Deadline for the petitions is
5 p.m. Thursday. The ASUO
office is open from 3 to 5 p.m.
daily.
Co-op to Close
For Re-Location
The Co-op supplies store in
Chapman Hall will be closed
Thursday. Friday, and Satur
day. It will re-open in the new
Co-op building on Kincaid St.
Monday morning.
Campus Briefs
Announcements for Campus Briefs must
be turned in by 3:30 p m. the day before
publication. Because of space limitations
no announcements will be run more than
twice.
Mill Race Olympics will be held today at
3 p.m. by the physical plant The canoe
jousting will be the first events followed by
the tug-of-war.
Film Society members who wish to parti
cipate in operation and planning of coming
season will meet Wednesday at 7:30 p.m.
in the SU.
Drakes petitions are now available on
the third floor of the Student Union to
persons who will be social seniors next year.
Petitions must be in by May 13. If you

Theta Sigma Phi will meet in the SU

There will be an mandatory Kwama
meeting tonight at 6:15 p.m. to complete
membership selection. Plan to stay for a
short meeting at 7 p.m. concerning poll
working procedures.
Walter S. Blake, candidate for state sup
erintendent of public instruction, will be
speaking on academic reform in Oregon
Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. in the SU Ball
room. The public is invited and encouraged
to ask questions.
An organization named Students for Por
ter-Morgan will be formed at a meeting of
all interested people, to be held at 4:30 to
day in the SU. All persons interested in
working on the campaigns of these two
men are asked to attend.
Petitions are available lor the following
SU committees: talent; personnel; publici
ty ; forum; movie; arts; games; recorded
classics; jazz; and dance. Petitions are due
May 13 at 5 p.m. in room 301 SU.
Meeting for Spring Sing song leaders,
whose groups made it through eliminations
will be held at 7 p.m. today, 313 SU. Know
the exact number in your group.
Spring Sing song leaders may pick up
their music and judge's comment sheets at
the Delta Delta Delta house.
There will be an SU Arts Sale Friday
through Sunday in 101 SU. The Sale will
be from 1 to 5 p.m. Those having articles
to sell may bring them to the Art Gallery
Closet today and Wednesday, 7 to 9 p.m.
Records that were not sold at the Record
Sale may be picked up anytime in the Clas
sic listening room. Checks for people who
sold records are available in 301 SU.

CB Teams Enter Quarter Finals
UO College Bowl begins the
quarter finals today at 9 p.m. and
10 p.m. on PL-3.
In the first match. Kappa Sig- j

Robbins Hall. At 10 p.m.. Beta
Theta Pi. Alpha Omicron Pi will
match wits with Delta Tau Del

The teams are playing for a
$400 scholarship grant and a tro
phy for their organization. The
