Art Exhibition
Pots, paintings and prints are
being shown this month at the
12th Avenue Gallery in Eugene.
Bob James, associate professor
of art at the University, will pre
sent plates, mugs, square pots,
bowls, and one amphora, all of
vhich have a salt glaze.
The print makers are LaVerne
Krause and Eunice Jensen of
Portland. Krause is showing etch
ings, dry points, color lithos. and
woodcuts reflecting the Portland
scene. She is currently teaching
print making and painting at the
University. Eunice Jensen is
showing serigraphs and wood
cuts. A number of her prints are
i:i oval form and reveal the West,
Bend, birds, and seasons.

University Obtains
(Education Grants
Grants totaling $129,600 have
l*een received by the University;
from the U.S. Office of Education

fessional personnel in working'
with the mentally and physically
handicapped, the emotionally dis
turbed, and persons with speech j
and hearing difficulties.
The grants are for a one-year
period, starting June 1.
Under the grant. $11,200 was
awarded to the University’s De
partment of Speech, and the bal-!
nee was awarded to the School
of Education.
