Three Who Beat
The Trojans
These three Oregon basketball players played a major
role in the Ducks’ victory over Southern California.
• Sophomore Nick Jones (above) fires a jump shot over
the guard of John Zazzaro (43). Jones scored 14 points and
had one of the best nights of his college career.
• Center Gene Brockmeyer (upper left) gets off his pat
ented hook shot against USC’s touted center, John Block
(33). Brockmeyer scored 16 points and gathered in 13 re
bounds to compare favorably with Block, who had 18 points
and 11 rebounds.
• Guard Jim Barnett (left) drives past two USC players
for a layin. Barnett scored 16 against the Trojans.
